With conservation easments from both the Wetland Reserve Program and Finger Lake Land Trust, We are a forever protected sanctuary to all living things.

Who We Are

We grew up in city & suburban environments. After being disillusioned by the typical lifestyles lived in those environments, we have been on a quest to find something more meaningful for us and our family .We have spent many years preparing for and living the lifestyle that we are pursuing on this place. We have always envisioned a place where we could have the space and infrastructure to have gardens, farm animals, and live close to nature and most of all have it set up in a way to share it with others. Rune Hill Sanctuary has fit this desire completely.  We are just at the beginning of this new adventure at this place . I am excited about the possibilities that are now before us as we evolve Rune Hill Sanctuary into our home and place of business.

Our History

This property has a long interesting history. Each owner over the past 50+ years has added new features to this ever evolving property. We are just the latest chapter in this amazing story.
Our goal for Rune Hill Sanctuary is to incorporate our own vision with the existing  history of this beautiful place.  We see this place as a location for community, retreat, exploration, discovery, education,  personal spiritual quests, homesteading, farming, and a sanctuary for all living things.
