Methodology of Meditation: A Rustic Retreat to Explore, Practice and Share 11/11/16 - 11/13/16
Meditation has been gaining more and more traction as an effective practice for everyone. Setbacks arise when one attempts to meditate only to find it more difficult than expected. Often times, practitioners may not realize that there are dozens, if not hundreds, of methods of meditation as well as physical factors to consider. Meditation can be customized for the individual to make the practice more accessible and that is what will be explored on this retreat.
For instructors, meditation technique and teaching can make all the difference in your classes and for your students. Simply suggesting people close their eyes and practice a mudra is often not enough to assist in a beneficial meditation session. Alignment, guidance and other aspects to the practice will be shared as well as many opportunities for self-practice to help you enhance your skills for leading a worthwhile meditation class, session or retreat.
This retreat is intended to encourage svadhyaya (self-study) as well as to offer an opportunity to “unplug” from devices and live simply and more silently, at least just for a few days. There will be plenty of free time to read, explore and rest in addition to the meditation sessions and yoga practices. Arrive with an open mind and the desire to connect with nature, others and, most importantly, yourself.
